Over the last four years a group of officers from various agencies in USA traveled to Moldova to share their professional expertise as well as the importance of their faith in Jesus Christ in their work and family life. Over the years some wonderful relationships have been developed with officers across the country of Moldova. As part of the relationship the desire was to organize a trip for a group of officers to USA. It is good to hear about police work in USA, but it had a much bigger impact of the officers to see and experience the life of USA officer. The Moldovan officers that took part in the exchange were represented by a city chief, a ministry official, a SWAT commander, an inspector, and Police Academy professor (in Moldova police academy is a B.A. law degree).
Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers
One of the goals of the exchange was to share the good news with the Moldovan officers. The team attended two church services and attended an event hosted by FCPO where the Gospel was presented. The Moldovan officers received a Romanian Bible as a gift. During the visit there were numerous spiritual conversations and events where officers had opportunities to hear personal testimonies of their US counterparts. The work will continue in Moldova through association of Chrisitian Police Officers of Moldova and through local church.
The team was able to participate in numerous ride-alongs, shoot various firearms at the shooting range, observe the serving of warrants, demonstrations by S.W.A.T. Crime Scene Units, Bomb Squad, drug enforcement and K-9 units. The team had a number of official meetings with city officials, sheriff's office as wells as city police. Following is the photo report.
