By Marcel D. During August 10-15 I participated at the camp in village of Vatici. Camp was organized by organization Stella's Voice together with other churches and a team from UK. The desire was to build relationships and share the gospel with the unbelievers. As KBC is working on developing a Romanian speaking ministry we decided to also participate. There were nine boys in our group. The goal was to eventually present the gospel and every leader group would invite their group to their church. It was a very blessed week. The subject for the whole week was Hebrews 12.1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Every morning we prayed for every person in our camp we asked God to work in every heart. After a Bible devotional we had personal discussion with our groups focusing on the topic presented. At the end of the week three boys rededicated their life to Jesus and one of them became a believer. We will continue to serve these guys. We invited them to our bible study and to the church and will continually pray for them. Below are a few photos from the camp activities. Note: Throughout the year students on Moldova Bible Seminary participate in various ministry outreach projects. Many spend their summers focusing on serving with churches and ministries across the country. This is one of the stories of MBS students on mission.
Vanya came to know the Lord through the ministry of Kishinev Bible Church. We first met him during an urban outreach. Here Vanya is sharing his story of how the Lord found him and how the camp ministry has been instrumental in his life and calling.
Vanya has been serving as a volunteer with "Club" ministry for 10-15 year olds as wells as sports instructor at KBC Teem camps this year. He has strong leadership abilities and has a bright future. Please join us in prayer for the Lord to continue to work in Vanya's life and to use him in the lives of many thought he ministries of Kishinev Bible Church.
One of the biggest challenges for young people face in the class-room and among peers is the defense of their faith. In our days of aggressive "new atheism", YouTube polemics and simplistic attacks on Christian faith it is imperative that young people are equipped to defend their faith. It is between highschool and first two years of college many drift away from the Lord as the attacks are too numerous. The apologetics camp is designed to help young Christians learn the foundations of faith and learn how to lead a discussion in an educated way. The main topic of the camp with daily lectures was an overview of Communist, Postmodern, Muslim and Chrisitian world-views based on the Summit Ministries materials and Understanding the Times by David Noebel. Special presentations were made on Evolution vs. Creationism, Arguments for the Existence of God, Biblical inerrancy, Church History, and debate skills. A time of worship was led by the "Upgrade" teen ministry worship team. It was a time of drawing near to the Lord in both truth and grace as young people prepared for the new school year and many to enter the university for he first time and to face the task of apologetics hands on.
