by Dr. Royce Smith, San Antonio, TX My time at the Moldova Seminary was a real eye opener. Coming from friendly Texas, I was surprised by the lack of response I received from many residents as I made my way around the community. When I smiled or waved at them, they would look at me and then keep on walking. I asked the students why this was happening and they explained to me that for adults who had lived almost their entire lives under Soviet oppression, there was little to smile about. Anyone who smiled was obviously 'not from around here' or was probably untrustworthy. Added to this, I learned that evangelical Christians were considered far outside the norm and are often treated as a cult. It would seem that evangelism would be nearly impossible... and then I saw the genius of what the Seminary is doing. They are preparing the best and brightest of young hearts and minds toward reaching the children and youth of Moldova, the only generation that is readily open to the Gospel. As the children and youth are reached, they can more easily share with their skeptical parents, and the Gospel can break through many decades of oppression, persecution and darkness. The Seminary and its associated ministries offer a wide variety of worship venues in multiple languages, through several church plants. It also offers after school and weekend clubs for children and youth that engage them in many fun and educational ways. When parents see others investing in and loving their children, hearts begin to soften and doors for spiritual conversations begin to open. Through the teaching of the ministry staff, and visiting pastors and professors, the students are challenged and prepared for real world ministry. My week in Moldova has opened my heart and eyes to the great work being done here and the need for continued prayer and financial support. I encourage you to get behind this movement in whatever way God impresses on your heart. These are godly, committed men and women who want to reach their country for Jesus, and your support can help them further this biblical mandate.

Teaching at MBS is a genuine delight. The staff are helpful and the students are bright and eager to learn. I taught Christian Ethics, and though challenging for the students, they were up to the tasks and all did well, particularly studying something which stretched their English language capabilities. It is wonderful to teach students who delight in the Lord and serve Him with joy in their churches. (John Putman, T&F International, Sofia, Bulgaria) Another great week at the Moldova Bible Seminary, as always the students were bright, and eager to learn and grow as two weeks ago we began our study of the Pastoral Epistles. It has been almost five years since my last visit and I am amazed at the progress the seminary and the church have made in such a short time. It is truly amazing and encouraging! The highlight of the week for me was hearing the students present their oral reports in class. They were insightful and well grounded in the truth of God's words. It has been a whirlwind two weeks through Paul's final letters to Timothy and Titus but well worth every minute of our time together. It was amazing to see the students reactions as they considered the great persecution and torture that Paul went through as he was writing his final letters. I'm sure this will definitely leave an indelible mark on the students lives. I cannot say enough about the quality of students at the seminary and the strength of their leadership. I anxiously await my return to Moldova and the seminary in the not to distant future. God Bless and Journey On! (by Mark Hoover, Lead Pastor, Journey Church, Killeen, TX)

The school year at Moldova Bible Seminary was launched on September 17. The student body continues to grow. The summer was very eventful for them as this year majority participated and lead in various ministry outreaches, evangelistic camps in the city and across the country. A two week down-time in early September is now followed by a very intense time of academic studies. The first week chapel the student body had in introduction of the new ministry under development by IFES (InterVarsity) in Moldova. The outreach to international students. The leader of the ministry made a presentation and challenged the students to become a part of the new outreach. Last year MBS has begun developing a relationship with this ministry by presenting a series of apologetics trainings and assistance in conducting evangelistic meetings in cafe-like setting for the students in the northern part of Moldova - city of Balti. The new school year was also started in the renovated class-rooms that bring more color into the lives of the students. The first class is Creative Writing and focuses on helping the students learn how to writing research papers and other kinds of academic work.

The students of Moldova Bible Seminary are involved in regular ministry throughout the year. As part of their education they also travel on international mission trips during the summer and winter breaks. This summer the geography of the outreach of MBS has expanded to include India.
Jeanya T. is a senior at MBS and during her years of studies has travelled across Moldova, Transnistria and Russia participating in ministry work. Her focus was children and teens. In 2014 after one of the trips to Russia she learned about a ministry in India that was started by Eastern Europeans and includes several orphanages. For a year she prayed about going to serve with them. As a result Jenya has joined together with a group of five young people from Moldova and traveled to serve the Indian orphans for a month.
Together with a team from Moldova, Jenya has been teaching children in four orphanages and also participated in an outreach to children in slums of Deli. This was a life-changing experience as upon her return Jenya has shared that he is now considering a long-term commitment to the country of India and the children she fell in love with.
Here you may see a video report from the month-long outreach in the country of over a billion.
