PROJECT 127
For many years, KBC Ministries was focused on reaching out to teenagers and youth. We have been doing it through various ways and means: Youth Ministry at Kishinev Bible Church, Sports Outreach, Evangelism through teaching English, and Camp ministry. Approximately 200,000 Moldovan youth are social orphans. Their parents are gone for years at a time to work in counties around the world. Children are left to live with grandparents, older siblings or just friends. This generation does not know how to live their lives and how to tell right from wrong.
PROJECT 127 stands for James 1:27, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of {our} God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, {and} to keep oneself unstained by the world.” Our desire is to reach out to social orphans mentioned above on the daily basis. It will be an afterschool program, a place where they will come and be helped by various volunteers with their homework, emotional needs, and even some physical needs. They will be able to attain some new skills they will benefit them personally: learning new computer skills, learning to play different musical instruments, playing sports, learning to cook, etc.
PROJECT 127 is after-school program where kids come and are helped by various volunteers with their homework, attend art school classes, ESL classes, various sports activities, and bible studies. We try to help their entire family with emotionally and, where possible, physically. Our driving passion is for every child like that to know God’s love.
PROJECT 127 is a great evangelistic tool in reaching these social orphans for Christ, disciple them in a local church, and send them into this world to make disciples!
To make this project possible we need either to rent or purchase a facility. We have identified three potential locations in the area of the city where KBC conducts its ministry. In Botanica region of the capital there are about 250.000 people with nine schools within 10-20 minute walk from each potential faciliy.
