Last two days I had an honor serving with pastor Alex Belev of Church without walls and coordinator of School Without Walls in Eurasia as we had a chance to travel to two boarder crossing, pray and talk with people, work with Moldovan Parliament to provide major assistance (more on this later) visit a number of the centers that focus of helping refugees. It is an honor to coordinate and work with dozens of churches and organizations that focus on this effort without wanting any credit. It is ONE CHURCH OF JESUS IN MOLDOVA NOW. We are grateful to our Global family and many churches and believers in USA who are standing in the gap with us. THANK YOU!
I had an honor of praying with these two Ukrainian ladies who are from two opposite sides of Ukraine.
One if from Eastern Ukraine and another on is from a region right to the West, right to north of Moldova. The war brought them to a make-shift refugee center in the city of Chisinau. They will leave Moldova in the next day or two. One will head out to Sweden with her child. Another one will go to Poland. Their lives will never e the same. They shared that one of them did not sleep for days. Another one said she though she did - but other ladies in the rood told her she was crying the whole night long. War is evil. People need Jesus! Please be in prayer for these ladies and over 90.000 refugees who already entered Moldova. Many more are at the border right now. Though for now it is still 1000 km from where we are, the emotional shock is still setting. Not sure how to feel.
🙏🏼 PRAY: ✅ Peace and divine intervention ✅ Safely and protection of Ukrainians ✅ Wisdom in desisions (not sure of extent of Russia intentions) ✅ Wisdom on how to serve refugees. We have a plan, but implementation may need more insight. ✅ Resourses and funds We will: 🚌 Provide transportation form border 🍔 Provide immediate food and clothes 🥘 Provide longer term food 🏠 Provide temporary shelter & logging ☑️ Provide guidance in legal and other areas If you want to contribute to KBC Ministries to assist with ministry funds, please follow one of the steps on our website. Funds will be distributed as necessary to assist in this area first, and other benevolence relief as situation unfolds.
KBC children ministry team traveled to the southernmost town of Vulcanesti (Gagauz, Moldova) to help one of the church plants in connection with the days center for children. They hosted over five dozen kids every day for the Bible Day camps. Most of these children come from broken homes as many parents are forced to leave for Russia and Turkey in search for jobs. As for the second summer we are not able to host teams form USA helping our church plants, the volunteers from Kishinev Bible Church committed to serve in various locations throughout the summer. The video below is a short report form one of these outreaches.
It was exciting to be a part of the graduation ceremony for Moldova Bible Seminary. We saw ten students graduate from two programs. These young people have competed the course of study and are headed to serve in various organizations and churches.
After a three-year-long candidacy status the Batchelor of Arts in Theology program at Moldova Bible Seminary has been upgraded to fully accredited. It is no longer a strange occurrence that many meeting would be conducted over Zoom. The accrediting visit was conducted in a hybrid format with five representatives from Moscow, Kherson, Lviv, Odessa and Chisinau over the web and in person. Numerous meetings were conducted to evaluate the administrative, academic and student live dimensions. As the result the full accreditation status was recommended in April and conformed in May of 2021. Our team has been working hard and we are really glad to celebrate such major milestone. We are now accredited by the professional accrediting agency (EAAA) that is responsible for former USSR and Slavic languages speaking schools. This accreditation helped us improve the overall quality of the programs. We are able to reach more people through:
(1) One-year gap-year style certificate in Russian and Romanian that allows for faster preparation of lay-ministers and young people to enter the secular academia with Christian worldview. (2) Three year B.A. in Theology in Pastoral Ministry or Christian Education to help prepare pastors and ministers for the expanding work of the church in Europe and Asia. In addition to this our students are able continue their education on the next level across the world as EAAA is also a member of a larger global organization that has mutual accreditation recognition. KBC team is active and working hard to respond to the needs of the most affected. As I shared, the limits on how many people can gather in Moldova is very narrow. Our team came in the groups of three and focused on providing groceries to the elderly who are stuck at home and are not able to to even go an buy groceries. We built large packages to help provide for the basic needs and will continue to serve the growing number as we face this world-wide challenge. Just yesterday our team delivered thirty-three bags of grocery care packages.
